Pastures

Summer TurnoutAt Big Oak Farm, we believe that horses need time to be horses. Because of this theory, we turnout our horses as much as is reasonable. Each horse spends at least part of everyday in the field with his/her pasture mates. Seasonal changes alter when our horses our turned out. In the summer, they are most often turned out at night so that they may relax out of the blazing sun and insect-filled days. In the winter, the horses are most comfortable outside during the day absorbing the warm rays.
